As we feel the twinges of fall coming into the air we, as a family, get excited. Not just because we love a change of season but we love to be outside. One of our favorite traditions in fall and spring is to take our schoolwork outside to the patio table and work in the breeze! Such a wonderful thing to be out enjoying nature and be learning at the same time. These are the days that I cry for public schooled children. I know that they have their own brand of fun but for our family, we can’t feel confined to the walls of our home.
We are looking at moving to a home that has a screened in porch and let me tell you, that is a beautiful thought for all of us! If we move to this home I can tell you that we will be spending countless hours on that porch just loving being outside without the bugs!
I would love to hear what other families love to do when fall starts to show it’s face! Please share your thoughts, ideas and traditions!

What a lovely post!
In the UK it is getting chilly here now, but we love walking in the woods (now the schools have gone back). We do seem to enjoy this time of year most, and have just set up a biosphere with some pond stuff. We also redecorate our season tree http://www.homeschooling-ideas.com/home-schooling-science.html to show the change in the weather.
i love the idea of sitting out and working though. Especially if we light an outdoor fire to sit around!

I agree, lovely!
I can’t wait to hear more about the screened in porch. I’ve always wanted one, especially a “sleeping porch” – I’d love a bug free spot to sleep outside when the weather is nice!
